Ella Weaver is an interdisciplinary lens and sound-based artist whose work produces deep studies of solace and acknowledgments of harsh truths that our only chance at existence is in the here and now. Sacred geometry, dreams, nightmares, and a past history of religion invoke meditation on what’s slowly become lost and how we came to lose it. Surreal compositions steeped in the duo of absurdity and melancholy, with an ultimate aim of deepening our understanding of human nature in the face of eternity.
With a BFA in Photography and Film from Virginia Commonwealth University, her films have received international and local respect— showcased at the Stockholm City Film Festival, Richmond International Film Festival, Grace Street Theatre, the Anderson Gallery, Studio Two Three, Student Experimental Film Festival Binghamton, and the Walthamstow International Film Festival in London.
